Overview

Most healthcare professionals are well-versed when it comes to the requirements for consent, privacy, and confidentiality when it comes to adult patients. However, minor patients, including infants, children, and adolescents, have special considerations that dental professionals must keep in mind. This program will discuss some professional liability and ethical concerns specific to caring for minor populations, and will propose general risk management recommendations to help dental practitioners navigate these concerns.

Infection Control in Your Dental Practice

Overview

Implementing infection prevention measures are not only legally required, but they are essential to keeping both employees and patients safe. Not only does it make good business sense to follow infection prevention guidelines to avoid possible litigation, but it is also congruent with dentists’ professional responsibilities. This course will look at administrative measures that dentists can take to ensure the safety of their staff and patients, as well as standard precautions that all dental health care practitioners needs to be mindful of in their practice in order to stop the spread of infection. Dentists will have an understanding of how you can better implement OSHA and CDC guidelines into your practice to help prevent potential exposures.
